SEO Audit and Business Development Service

Our business development service is meant for those that need more than just a Helping Hand. 80% of our clients end up going this route instead of having us make a small adjustment. We do a top to bottom analysis of your business, brand, and online presence. Not only do we fully evaluate your business, but we also check out your online competition. We then take all of that information and package it into a presentation that even a novice could understand. Then once you’ve had time to look over everything we’ve gathered, and the different routes we can take, you’ll schedule a call with our Client Liaison, Antonio Heberling, and they’ll answer any questions you may have. They’ll also go through the different plans with you and help you decide which option is the best for your situation.

Understand Our Process

It All Starts With A Consultation

We need to get a full understanding of your overall vibe and goals. Both short- and long-term goals are important if you want to be successful, it’s nearly impossible to hit a target you aren’t looking at.

Consultations can take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes. The main objective of the meeting is for everyone to get a better understanding of each other. Our Client Liaison will have plenty of time to go beyond their own questions and answer all the questions you may have about Wix, SEO, Digital Marketing, etc. It can be helpful for those who are new to e-commerce to write down some questions ahead of time that they can ask during their consultation. Before the consultation concludes you will need to add us on to your website’s team so we can move on to the next step, SEO Audit. Follow the steps below to add us on to your website’s team.

1. Go to the Site Dashboard; if you go to wix.com and it takes you to the 'Activity' tab, select 'Home' from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen

2. Click the white 'Site Actions' button, located on the right side of the screen, to the left of the blue 'Edit Site' button

3. Click the 'Invite People' button from the drop-down menu

4. Enter in my email address in the first box, antonio@helpinghandcreatives.com

5. Select the second role from the top labeled "Website Manager"

6. Click the "Send Invite" button located in the top right corner of the page

7. Select the second option down "Agencies or freelancers who help me build sites"

8. Click the "Done" button located in the bottom right of the lightbox

Full SEO Audit

Once we’ve accepted the collaboration invite on our end, we’re able to begin our SEO Audit. A typical audit takes 24 - 48 hours to complete. While there are a ton of problems that apply to specific situations, there are quite a few standard issues that we see in most websites.

User Experience/ User Interface

From layout problems to broken links, we evaluate the UX/UI of both your desktop and mobile website. If you have an Editor X website, we’ll be able to analyze the UX/UU of every breakpoint. We’ll find the exact number of UX/UI issues that you have on each breakpoint. The most common things we see are overlapping elements, broken links, illegible text, and general layout issues.

Meta Text

When discussing Meta Text, we’re looking at Meta Titles, Mets Descriptions, and Page Slugs. If you want to be perceived as professional, you need to have consistent Meta Text that follows certain internet guidelines. Things like standardized page slugs and lengthy page descriptions are both helpful to users and to your Google presence

Google Connections

Google offers a ton of products and services that are free to use. You just have to do your due diligence. Some connections, like Google Analytics, only take a few seconds and require a quick code swap to set up, longer connections, like Google My Business, require what is essentially a full account set up. Every package we offer includes the proper Google connections. Your site will be Google integrated as much as anyone possibly can.

H1 Tags

An easy way to tell Google’s Crawlers which keywords a page should show up for is H1 Tags. Also known as “Heading 1”, Google’s Crawlers use these tags to identify the name of the page. By using multiple H1 tags you can, in a way, “trick” Google into assigning multiple keywords to one page. You can view H1 tags in the source code by hitting ctrl + u while on a page of your website. Then use ctrl + f to search for “H1”, make sure to include the spaces at the end when searching. Otherwise, you can end up mistaking Wix’s embedded H1 mechanics for actual H1 Tags.

Keyword Targeting

Also known as the foundation of SEO, keywords are the most important aspect of SEO. There are many ways to incorporate keywords into your website in a way that will guarantee Google assigns them to your site. Proper implementation is not the only issue people face, proper keyword selection is something that 95% of our clients struggle with when they come to us. Using our SEO software, we’re able to find keyword candidates that are low in acquisition difficulty and high in monthly search volume.

Backlinks

Anyone can acquire keywords but moving up in the search results for said keywords is another struggle. While keywords are assigned to individual pages, the ranking of a page is based on the domain’s authority. By domain authority we’re referring to the level of credibility your website URL has with Google. Google bases your website’s credibility on the credibility of the website’s linked to your site. These links are called backlinks or links to your website from another website. You need to make sure that your backlinks are high quality. The higher the domain authority, the higher quality of backlink.

Key Pages

Every website needs 4 pages other than the Homepage. About, Contact, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy. If you collect data of any kind you are required to provide a transparent Privacy Policy. Terms of Service isn’t something that is required by any law to have. It does however keep you from potentially get sewed by users in the future and shows Google that you’ve done your homework. Those two pages combined with About and Contact are necessary if you want to be taken seriously by Google, other sites, and users. In terms of SEO, having these pages doesn’t improve your domain authority, but not having them lowers your domain authority.

After we’ve identified the main issues your site has, we then analyze your SEO competitors. We use the knowledge gained to develop unique solutions to your niche problems. From site design to backlink candidates, there’s a lot to be learned from your competition.

Business Development Strategy

Once our analysis is complete, it’s time to compile all of our research into an easily digestible presentation. The presentation is broken down into 3 sections that represent the 3 phases of our projects.

Development & Design

This is where you’ll find the core problems with your website design and SEO strategy. You’ll see a lot of the common ones listed above like UX/UI or Meta Text, as well as uncommon things specific to your website. Not only will we identify the main issues and describe each issue in detail, but we’ll also explain exactly how we plan to fix it. After we go through the core problems, we’ll then explain a few additional improvements that you can make to your website, social media, or brand.

Implementation

This section is all about the website build process. We start by going over the two choices you have to make, design options and build options. Design is simple, you have a Tune Up, Redesign, and Custom Site. Tune Ups include the core problem fixes and minimal design changes. A Redesign involves us taking a website template and redesigning it for your needs and brand vibe. Custom Sites take the longest but they ensure you get a 1 of a kind site designed around your wants and needs. Then we go over your build options. Depending on the website, we offer 3 - 6 build options. Once you’ve chosen your design and build options the rest is on us. We walk you through the steps we take when building a website.

Maintain & Grow

Finally, we’ll discuss your long-term growth options as well as the pricing of our services. We offer website management service, social media management and social media post design services, and SEO services. All of our web design packages have payment agreements available. So, if you want a professional website without putting up the thousands of dollars needed to achieve your goals, you can spread the cost out over time, up to 12 months. No interest for taking a longer agreement, no penalty for paying off your debt early. We just need to manage the website for the length of the agreement.

Review and Reach Out

Once the presentation comes back from proofreading, we will send it to your inbox and notify you via text. Our Business Development Strategies can be anywhere from 50 - 75 slides and contain a lot of technical language. After you’ve read through the entire proposal contact our Client Liaison so they can answer any questions you may have. They can help you understand the information provided and figure out which route is best for your budget and needs.

If you decide on a payment agreement, our legal team will draw up a contract that lay out the terms in black and white. Once you’ve picked your package and any necessary contracts are signed, we’ll be able to release any invoices that we need to get started. You’re able to pay our invoices with any major credit/debit card or PayPal account. We can also accept Zelle payments for large single time payments.

Project Begins

Now that you’ve chosen and paid for your web design package, we’re finally able to begin working on your project. The typical turnaround time for our projects is 2 - 4 weeks depending on the amount of work necessary. Sometimes projects can go to 6 weeks if we’re designing a custom website, but we try to get our projects done in a timely manner. The only reason we would go beyond that estimate is you are a board or group of people that need to approve everything. Things like non-profits or churches can take months because we’re waiting on content or approval. So, we understand that this may cause projects to take a little longer than normal and we’re here for it. At the end of the day, we’re working on your website which means we’re working on your schedule.

Project Timeline

Rough Draft

While the project as a whole can take around 4 weeks, after just 1 we’ll have a rough draft of your site ready to go. This version will only have the homepage and 1 or 2 others, but the rough draft is meant to be a snapshot of the design. It allows you to see our vision and approve of the direction we’re headed. If you don’t like any part of the rough draft, we’ll scrap it and start over, but 99% of the time we mail it on the first try.

Final Design Draft

About 1 - 2 more weeks later we will have all of the pages added. At this point any content that we haven’t already requested will need to be sent over before the site is ready to go live. We’ll identify any pages that are missing content. Beyond that your desktop site will be fully functional. You’ll get the full picture of what your site will look like when it’s completely done.

Last Minute Adjustments

After getting the ok from you on the design and any content that we need in order to finish the site, it will only take us a few days to get the site ready to go live. Once the content has been added we’ll add the premium plan, connect the domain, and do the last few backend adjustments.

Live Site

This is it, your site is LIVE! The next few weeks are us monitoring for niche issues. Although we’re able to avoid any traditional or common problems, like all technology, there are certain problems you can’t fix until you encounter them in practice. Whatever problem arises, we’re able to handle it quickly and efficiently. That’s why we recommend to all of our clients that they have us manage the site for at least 1 month following the official site launch. 97% of our clients agree and decide to keep us on retainer for at least a month following the site launch.
